ReplyDelete"Baking Cakes in Kigali" by Gaile Parkin, who was born in Zambia. Angel Tungaraza, the heroine and main character, has a charm and down-to-earth sensibility and sense of humour that is endearing, and Parkin manages to weave the heart-wrenching tales of Rwanda's history into the story via the characters in a way that is touchingly personal and very memorable. 5* !!!
